Patrick Maina, founder of Growth Catalyst

I am Patrick Maina.

Independent business growth consultant, former Chief Operating Officer, and founder of Growth Catalyst. For eight years I have helped businesses get found on Google, get recommended by AI, and turn those visits into paying customers. Every project is personally managed by me.

4.9★average on Fiverr, with 452 five star reviews
56+countries served. That is 28% of the world.
8 yearsin search, websites and ads

Every number here comes from organic search. Zero Google Ads. I actually advise clients against Google Ads until their product is already on the first page of Google, because new pages cost more per click and the visitors stop the day you stop paying.

452 five star reviews. 102 of them come from US law firms. Different practice areas, different states and cities. Funny, because lawyers don’t even trust their own clients. So it means a lot.

KSh 10M+ in quotes requested through four client websites that are less than two and a half months old.

Why I started Growth Catalyst

I started Growth Catalyst because of one conversation I kept having.

A business owner would tell me they paid good money for a website. Then, in the same breath, that it had never brought them a single customer.

Nobody had ever explained the difference to them. Having a website and being findable are two completely different purchases. That gap is where most marketing money in Kenya disappears.

What I do

I build websites and online shops. I write the pages. I set up Google. I run the ads. I wire up the follow up so enquiries stop going cold.

I do all of it because these parts only pay off when they work together. A search person who cannot change the website is stuck. A developer who does not understand search builds something invisible. A great ad pointed at a page nobody trusts is an expensive way to lose money.

I have built and run shops and service sites in Kenya, and worked with clients in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Most of that work is the unglamorous part. Getting product data right. Making slow things fast. Working out what people type before they buy.

How I work

  • I tell you when you do not need me Some businesses do not need a new website. They need the old one to load faster and to show a phone number. Saying so costs me a project and earns me a client.
  • I explain why You will always know why something is being done and what the other option was. You do not have to become a marketer, but nothing should feel like a black box.
  • I do not promise things nobody can deliver No guaranteed rankings. No guaranteed AI mentions. No guaranteed number of customers. Anyone offering those is hoping you do not know better.
  • I answer my own messages Send a WhatsApp to this business and it lands on my phone. You will not be handed to someone who has to go and ask.

What we will not do

  • Publish numbers we cannot support No invented client figures. No fake reviews. No traffic chart without a source you could check.
  • Sell you something the maths does not support If the calculator says a budget cannot pay for itself, we show you that before we quote.
  • Hold your things Your domain, hosting, site, content and ad account are yours. Every login gets handed over.
  • Use tricks that put you at risk No bought links. Short term tricks are a liability on something you plan to own for years.

Where we work

We are in Nairobi and we work with businesses all over Kenya. Almost everything happens on WhatsApp and remotely. That suits both sides. It means we can work with a clinic in Nakuru or a contractor in Mombasa with no travel bill attached.

If you are in Nairobi and would rather meet in person, that is easy to arrange.

Talk to me before you talk to a proposal

Send a voice note. Tell me what is not working. If I am the right person to fix it I will say so, and what it costs. If I am not, I will say that too.
